CASE STUDY: Envision Resilience

Envision Resilience organizes a year-long challenge that culminates in an exhibit of student work.
We were brought in for two reasons: to help document students’ journeys, and to make very technical work more accessible to the public.

Graphic Recording Gallery
We spent the year graphic recording speaker series, student workshops, and midterm and finals feedback sessions. These were printed as part of the exhibit, and also galleried up during a student mixer.

Exhibit Assets: Illustrated Map (Front)
We created a map that synthesized each project into a memorable icon. This was displayed as part of the exhibit, and was also printed so that visitors could take it home. As a bonus, the icons became stickers!

Exhibit Assets: Illustrated Map (Back)
The map was designed as a foldable asset that tells the story of the challenge as it unfurls. We worked with the Envision Resilience Team to develop the main themes that visitors needed to be familiar with.

Exhibit assets: transformative illustrations
The exhibit took place in a library, and we intervened in strategic locations to help transform the space thematically, including creating illustrated pillars for the kids’ section of the library, and a kids’ activity mural.

Exhibit Opening: Capturing the Community Voice
For opening night, we were present to engage with and capture the voice of the community. We set up two boards and brought people in to respond to the exhibit. The resulting visuals captured the community response to projects, and became an asset to share on social media and to share back with the towns.
